Opening story was not a demonstration of what was claimed
Elliptical Model is garbage.
People can excel or lack or anywhere in between any of those types of intelligence (though not conceding they are all intelligence) in more or less any combination
Some have physical prerequisites and genetic ones like lack of relevant disability
Friend had a tenant come knocking at his door, I opened the door and was meet with this dude with Rastafarian braids. Ne’er do well pot head I thought, (he invented what? I asked my friend in surprise)
Also knew a long haired heavy duty pot smoker give a lecture on offshore oil potentials to a group of oil execs.
The way I see intelligence is that all humans are actually stupid... and that 'intelligence' is a huge burden that is driving us towards extinction ...
Food Production - Primed for a Cataclysm
Name another species other than humans that sprays poison on it’s food supply so that other organisms will not eat it - then proceeds to consume the toxin-laced crop?
And worse still, in the centuries leading up to the Industrial Revolution, malnourishment was the norm for populations across the world. Malthus warned that the situation would worsen and result in an epic disaster because food production was unable to keep pace with population growth.
His prediction remains widely ridiculed as contemporary detractors point to a pandemic of global obesity driven by an oversupply of food.
The only thing he got wrong was that he failed to anticipate two of the stupidest humans ever to walk the planet, Fritz Haber and Carl Bosch, who invented a process that utilizes finite substances (fossil fuels) to produce chemical fertilizers that have been used to drive food production volumes through the roof.
These men were awarded the Nobel Prize not once but twice for their discoveries and the world has essentially been gorging on petrochemical-derived food for over a century.
And because of them we are able to feed 8+ billion humans, using finite substances, with no Plan B.
I have put this to a number of my friends including a top Wall St lawyer (Oxford math and later law scholarship) and a family member who was tops in everything in school and owns a successful architecture firm .... and they are unable to respond....
I am certain they disagree because to agree would basically be admitting that their intelligence is bad thing... coming first in the class is actually destructive behaviour.... that Thomas Edison types have f789ed us....
But they are unable to argue my point... I press them and ask - but do you agree or disagree? If you disagree... explain to me where I am wrong.
They can't - cuz I am right.
Now that we have established that I am right and intelligence is a burden... let's look at the two types of intelligence. There are only two
The second, and longest, part of my career was in DoD weapon system R&D and acquisition. As DoD (tried) applied Deming's TQM one enterprising colonel introduced Myers Briggs.
We had "teams" mode up of engineers, tech managers, contracts specialists, cost estimators, schedulers, representatives of operators, and specialists worried about the supply chain and maintenance channels, as well as safety and risk analysts..... and system engineers who were to make sure we could audit the specifications to operating benefits.
If we knew everyone's Myer Briggs we could understand their reactions and conflicts????
Over q number of years in different roles I took several MB's. At least 3 different outcomes, I suspect based on the organizational and programmatic situation I faced at the time.
Adaptability and flexibility to the situation is important.
So true. MB: can be easily faked but in general it is a helpful indicator and starting point. I was a strong INTJ but have moved back closer to an INFJ. These tests are not entirely independent of environment and circumstances. As I keep saying to people treat these types of tests with a good dose of salt; they are just a helpful tool and in the end they are not you, everyone is unique.
This is nonsense.

This is nothing more than a strained hypothesis

And I still judge.

I enjoyed reading your essay - concise and useful.
Thank you very much.
From my experience Myers Briggs: I-N-F/T-J’s seem to be square pegs in round holes but have the potential to offer considerably to society.
"It takes all kinds".

Got it fixed, thanks!
