well, that was a superb intro of a well written story, based on true historical events. so many questions, are you the author, and if so, since i detect reference(s) to a French connection (no pun intended) as per website name/title, have you any personal interest ties to fairly recent events of French Africa's country's desire to abandon it's ties with France. i am not a history buff, but i did make a flimsy attempt to try figure out if this elegantly written scene of an extraction of valuable French undercover military in possibly Senagal 2010 from a nearby beach therein. (i did not search for the added information that mentioned the thug life of China's One Belt One Road or other encroachment that has disrupted European historical dominance.) Anyway, that was the usual "Sue Obee" nerd (from the dummy group of nerds), response - which can yield nothing but a few more tidbits of history that quite honestly leaves me feeling uncomfortable. God Bless Africa and its history. And may we all recognize the state of things, and my takeaway For Me is, that China's plunder capitalism and infiltration/dominance has left few geographical pockets untouched. So while Gray got more than he planned for, At He Planned for a scenario that not end well, but all told went favorably. (i am giving myself wiggle room to entirely off the mark, but had fun researching and no did not touch trashy Wiki)
In many nations, the ministers are paid to enact policy which is detrimental to the population. This was indeed the case here. Most of these bought-ministers are also sloppy in their personal dealings and easy to detect.
